Project Summary & Objective
Olympic Way is a high-quality student accommodation development in the regenerated area of Wembley and neighbor’s the world-famous Wembley Stadium. The 19-storey development provides 699 student beds, divided into 629 bedrooms and 70 studios, a large common room on the first floor, multiple study areas, living spaces, management suites, commercial space and a number of landscaped roof terraces.
Key Challenges
The structural solution required slender structural elements to fit within the wall construction. There were a number of large open space that required careful consideration of the column positions and slab design. Due to the complex ground conditions the piled foundation solution was unique, it used a large number of short bored piles.
Solution
The overall structural solution utilized insitu concrete slabs supported off two-storey precast columns and precast cores.
